From fisheries that catch fish to fisheries that raise fish

The development and utilization of vast oceans is becoming more and more important for Japan, a small country with little natural resources. Based on its experience and know-how acquired over many years, Zeni Lite Buoy is working to develop and design a variety of systems that are required for fisheries aimed at raising fish by using the most advanced technology.
Zeni Lite Buoy’s automatic acoustic feeding buoys, equipped with a device that feeds fish evenly in the prescribed amount at preset times, are designed to meet various conditions of the waters where they are installed.
The shapes and sizes of buoys are determined depending on various factors, including the conditions of the waters where they are installed and the size and weight of devices to be carried by buoys.

System of fisheries aimed at raising fish

Raising of parent fish
Breeding of parent fish three years or older

Breeding of larvae

Larvae are raised in a tank after they hatch (2 mm long) until they are 12 mm long, for about 35 days.
Breeding of larvae
(Fish preserve)
Larvae are raised in a fish preserve for about 20 days, during which time they grow from 12 mm to 30 mm long.
Training for acoustic feeding
(Intermediate aquaculture farm)
Fish are trained by sound and food for about 80 days to develop a conditional reflex, during which time they grow from 30 mm to 100 mm long.
Fish are discharged to an ocean aquaculture farm
and are trained 4 to 7 times a day to get accustomed to sound.
