Zeni Lite Technology and long experience of various buoy design
Using custom developed in-house software, and applying our vast experience and knowledge built-up over many years on the behaviour and performance of buoys operating under different parameters has enabled Zeni Lite to conceptualize buoy design based on actual environmental conditions. This 'know-how' has led to the introduction of a range of proven designs suitable for shallow water, deep water, high wave, swift currents and/or a combination of these conditions. Our engineers' design buoys specific to the operational conditions of the deployment site. This approach is unique to Zeni Lite and very much differentiates us from other organisations.

Standard tail-tube or skirt type
-
These buoys are the most popular type in the Zeni Lite range of steel buoys, and offer high performance and long life. They are suitable for lateral and cardinal marking and for special marks, in both open and sheltered conditions.
The tail-tube designs are appropriate for open sea conditions. The S-type and SA-type are applicable where water depth is limited.
The designs take account of our experience in buoy design and manufacture by including protection for the lantern and solar panels or other equipment, and by providing safe access for service personnel.

High wave type
The Zeni Lite ZWB high wave type buoy will withstand extremely high waves, submergence, and breaking water.
Lantern and power system are fully sealed so that their operation is unaffected by these difficult conditions.

Swift current type
Swift Current type buoys are designed for service in locations subject to swift currents exceeding 4 knots.
This range of buoys combines excellent stability characteristics with low resistance to current flow for reduced drag effect.

Lanby type
The ZLNB series is for marking traffic separation zones, and for similar important locations.
Each buoy is arranged for automatic operation with minimum maintenance, equipped with high power navigational aids including racon, and with remote monitoring and control to suit individual requirements.
Moorings for deep water can be provided using chains or composite mooring system.

Standard type
This range of buoy is particularly suitable for use within harbors, rivers and lakes for marking limits and obstructions during underwater works and construction.
They are designed to enable handling and servicing to be undertaken by unskilled personnel, from small craft in reasonably protected waters.
Initial cost is generally low so that these buoys can be purchased for temporary use.

Zeni Lite Technology and long experience of various Spar Buoy and Resilient Light Beacon design
Zeni lite's experience and knowledge of this buoy type can give the best solution when large spar buoys and Resilient Light Beacon are required.
If a standard design is not suitable for a specific site, then we will make a new or modified design. Our dynamic simulation programs, supported by data from numerous sea trials, allow us to accurately and confidently predict the performance of any Zeni Hi Spar buoy under the exact site conditions of wind, wave, and current.
The benefits of spar buoys are summarized as high positioning accuracy and lower installation compared with a cost of a fixed structure as well as easy installation and re-positioning at the site if needed in future.
Experience and Special know-how
Zeni Lite is the world leader in designing, fabricating and supplying of Spar Buoys and Resilient Light Beacons(RLB) with over 800 units deployed globally, many of which are operating in areas experiencing cyclonic conditions.
Spar Buoys (& RLB) very much differ from traditional chain buoys, in that their movements are controlled, ideal for channel marking, and provide regulatory authorities an alternative to piled beacons, which are susceptible to damage by passing vessels incurring huge rectification cost or possibly destroyed, becoming a navigation hazard.

Experience and Special know-how
Zeni Lite has developed several types of unique mooring systems for our range of Spar Buoys and Resilient Light Beacons. Depending on the deployment site and operational requirements, a system may comprise of custom made high quality, high tensile links and shackles (JIS Grade U2 or U3) or our Universal Joint System. Both types of mooring systems provide a design life in excess of 10-years.
Dynamic Analysis Technique
Our designs are generated after an extensive process of calculating the static and dynamic behaviour of the Spar Buoy (& RLB) operating under different conditions (operational & survival), as well as factoring the expected operational life, resulting in a design providing long durability with reliable performance incorporating the highest engineering standards.
