Special buoys

SOS signal buoy (Zenicall model F)

This model is designed to automatically detach itself from a sinking ship and come to the ocean surface to send an SOS signal in a shipwreck. Signals sent from this device are transmitted to a ground station via the Cospas-Sarsat satellite system. The ground station identifies the location and identification signal of the signal source and reports to a rescue organization, such as the Japan Coast Guard, in real time. The rescue organization tracks down signals sent from the buoy so as to start efficient rescue activities as soon as possible.
